The level of competition among firms within an industry directly determines the effectiveness of the sector. Each company strives as much as possible to retain or improve its positioning within the market. As a result, several competitive strategies may be used such as pricing strategies, customer care services, value addition and diversity among other approaches. An organization has to come up with appropriate strategies so as to manage the competitive forces within an industry.
