Writing Sample on Your AP Literature TestThe AP Literature test is a measurement of academic proficiency and a measure of your potential as a writer. This is a choice to go against your will, one test at a time.Gatsby is the first writing sample in a series of four. Although this one has not yet been given out to anyone, it is a good example of an essay that can be used for the Gatsby test. When you read through the sample chapters, you will find all the same information and dialogue used in the actual Gatsby essay. Take your time reading the Gatsby section of the AP Literature test and see how well you do.The next writing sample comes from the time of Walt Whitman, but has more literary elements than the first one. This writing sample is titled 'A Poem'. It includes a few lines of prose throughout and a scene of Gatsby's house.You should read through the following paragraph and figure out if it fits the format of an AP Literature test question. Don't stop reading though. Pay close a ttention to the information.I wander too much for my own goodHis position I take for granted;His life is lovely indeed;Life shines more than is thoughtWhen you get through the rest of the Gatsby essay, take a look at the other two writing samples. You may find one or more sentences that fall into the category of potential AP Literature test questions. Remember, that you should go through each sentence before you continue to eliminate the ones that are likely to make it to the test.
